We currently have three (3) WWW-proxy servers co-operating in a caching-mesh as siblings (neighbours), in which the proxy servers do client load sharing and providing fall-back service in case of drop-out of one of the proxy servers.
Our proxy servers also participate in the Dutch hierarchical caching mesh (see SURFnet Web-Caching), with the SURFnet - NL Toplevel (primary and fallback) cache-servers as our parents.
